Using Distance Learning?

Is it possible to teach foreign languages successfully, especially the less commonly taught ones, over a distance? How can interactive or communicative activities be arranged? What about teaching pronunciation? These questions, as well as other advantages and disadvantages of distant learning, will be discussed, with an eye toward implications for the future.
