Multimedia Language Learning Software graphic

This website was developed at the University of Hawai'i National Foreign Language Research Center as a follow-up to the 1998 Invitational Symposium on Assessing and Advancing Technology Option in Language Learning. The goal of the Symposium was to develop a database of multimedia language learning programs. The project also resulted in the development of comprehensive criteria for evaluating computer-delivered multimedia language learning systems. Partial support for the project was provided by the US Department of Education. The database was updated in 2003 and now contains language learning software in over 100 languages.

We invite language learners, teachers, software developers, and administrators to search the database, consult the evaluative criteria. We welcome suggestions on additional programs.
