The virtual CD-ROM which serves as the core text for this course, Kan Na! Authentic Chinese Video, is based on unscripted video shot on location in China, including interviews with a variety of ordinary Chinese folk and on-site role-plays. A selection of five lessons from the CD-ROM will be covered in the course after an initial introductory unit in which students get to know each other.

CHN 332 Chinese Advanced Reading and Writing
THIS COURSE WILL BE OFFERED SPRING 2015

CHN 421C English-Chinese Translation
THIS COURSE WILL BE OFFERED SPRING 2015

This course provides training in translation techniques and the theory of translation, with a focus on working from English into Chinese. The course typically requires CHN 402 or 404 as a prerequisite; the instructor may waive this requirement for qualified students.
