Reading in a Foreign Language

CALL FOR PAPERS

METHODS AND APPLICATIONS IN READING RESEARCH

Special Topic Issue, Autumn 2004

Edited by Elizabeth Bernhardt

Reading in a Foreign Language announces a call for papers for the Autumn 2004 special topic issue on methods and applications in reading research. This issue of RFL is devoted to publishing articles that are concerned with methods and applications in reading research. Articles should provide a rationale for the methodology employed. Specifically, we solicit papers covering

  • both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • populations requiring different approaches (e.g., nonliterate in L1, young children)
  • methodological reviews
  • assessment methods
  • verbal reports and protocol analysis
  • experimental designs as well as interventions
  • orthographic and phonological variables

RFL is particularly interested in articles on languages other than English. We also encourage collaboration between university researchers and practitioners.

We are fortunate that Professor Elizabeth Bernhardt, Stanford University, is the editor of this special issue. Questions, proposals and submissions should be directed to ebernhar@stanford.edu

Contributors are advised to read our submission guidelines for information on RFL's submission policies. All submissions must be received by Professor Bernhardt no later than December 31, 2003.
