Federal funding for the Title VI Language Resource Center (LRC) Program has been abruptly discontinued after 35 years of work in world language education.     RICHARD MEDINA is the Assistant Director of Technology at the NFLRC. His  energies are primarily directed at co-developing online learning environments for language instruction and research. He leads multiple IT projects and systems at the center. He has published extensively on the topic of technology mediated representational practices in computer supported collaborative learning settings. His PhD dissertation examined how inscriptions in online environments become representations through participants’ emerging practices.
