Federal funding for the Title VI Language Resource Center (LRC) Program has been abruptly discontinued after 35 years of work in world language education.     Yumiko Tateyama

    Yumiko Tateyama is the Project Co-lead for the Culture App (Japanese version). She teaches Japanese language and translation courses in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She holds an MA in TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and MA and PhD degrees in Japanese Language from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Her research interests include Japanese language pedagogy, teaching and learning pragmatics, classroom discourse, and translation and interpreting. She is the co-editor of the book Interactional Competence in Japanese as an Additional Language published by NFLRC.
