Thank-you Letter #2, and Thank-you Letter #3. The page setup in your browser should probably be set to "portrait" (upright). For each letter, answer the following questions if you can, and HIGHLIGHT AND LABEL THE INFORMATION IN THE LETTER. We will look at them together in class. What was the occasion of the gift-giving? What gifts were given to the letter-writer? How does the letter-writer ritually protest the gift-giving? How did the letter-writer "use" one of the gifts given? How does the writer "bid" to end the letter -- "Well, my plane's about to leave" type of thing? What is a fancy way to express one's heartfelt thanks? Can you list three different "wishes" you could use to close a letter? KEY HERE. |
