Wed 1/20 § Prepare for a test on IC L9. Reading: selections from the lesson text or reading texts in the workbook, presented as a cloze test (fill in the missing characters) or a descrambling task.Writing IN HANZI: Outline a travel itinerary for your travel agent. Detail where you want to go, by what three different means of transportation (s/he will accommodate anything!), how long you want to stay in each place, and one reason why you want to visit each place. Grammar: respond to situations requiring the use of ji4ran2, chu2fei1, que4shi2, nan2guai4, nar3...nar3..., lai2 bu4 ji2 le, and xian1...zai4... . Listening: diagram an itinerary described by the teacher. Listening/speaking: based on the answers to questions YOU WILL ASK, summarize in a chart the results of an argument the teacher had with his traveling companion about an itinerary they were trying to plan together.Pinyin: be able to render accurately IN PINYIN WITH TONE-MARKS any of the first 15 items in this lesson's vocabulary list upon hearing them pronounced.

§ Manoa students: Today or tomorrow, proceed to the tape library in Moore Hall 156 with a BLANK (preferably new) C-60 cassette with (this is important) NORMAL BIAS (not high bias). Request them to record the following items:

  • CB 810.1 Textbook, Lesson 10 "Zai Youju" (18 minutes)
  • CB 810.2 Workbook, Lesson 10 (3 minutes)

I have been informed that the tape library will not record more than one lesson at a time, so please don't push my credit.:)
