LODGING

 

Conference participants are responsible for their own accommodations. We have negotiated special room rates with three hotels and our on-campus residence halls. The number of rooms are limited, and you are encouraged to reserve your room in a timely manner. Below are the various options available for lodging.

HOTELS IN WAIKIKI

The three conference hotels are located next to each other in central Waikiki.

Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel -

Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel reveals Hawaii at its most charming, capturing views of the jewel-bright Pacific and Diamond Head, the Koolau Mountains, and Honolulu's fabled city lights. This Waikiki hotel offers the best of the city and is just steps away from famed Waikiki Beach. Within the hotel are an assortment of shops, the Pikake Terrace restaurant, and the Splash Bar & Bento. There’s a swimming pool, fitness room, an activities desk, and other services for guests. A brisk 20-minute walk takes you to the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium at the foot of world-famous Diamond Head.

Guest rooms feature air conditioning, balcony, cable TV, pay movies, mini-refrigerator, high-speed internet access, and more. (NOTE: We will be arranging for complimentary shuttle service between one of the conference hotels and the UH campus during the conference - see the Transportation section for updates).

Special room rates are $130/night (standard room), plus applicable taxes and fees. Reservations must be made by April 24, 2012 to get the special rates.

OHANA Waikiki East Hotel -

Situated in central Waikiki at the corner of Kuhio and Kaiulani Avenues, this Waikiki hotel is steps away from famed Waikiki Beach and Kalakaua Avenue’s shopping and entertainment. OHANA Waikiki East offers 3 restaurants and an espresso café, and around the corner you’ll find a fully stocked grocer. There’s a swimming pool, fitness room, and video game arcade on-site. A brisk 20-minute walk takes you to the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium at the foot of world-famous Diamond Head. Or use the OHANA Waikiki Connection free pass to explore the ins and outs of Waikiki on the rambling Waikiki Trolley with a final stop to shop at Ala Moana Center (available for guests of the OHANA Hotels only).

OHANA Waikiki West is a family-friendly Waikiki hotel in every way, with plenty of kitchenette rooms and standard rooms. Starbucks and Chili’s restaurant offer familiar fare and there’s a fully stocked grocer just steps away. OHANA Waikiki West's central Waikiki location is just a 5-minute walk to Waikiki Beach. Tour Honolulu by city bus at your leisure, or use the OHANA Waikiki Connection free pass to board the Waikiki Trolley shopping shuttle directly in front of the hotel for hop-on-hop-off sightseeing of Waikiki with a final stop to shop at Ala Moana Center (available for guests of the OHANA Hotels only).

ON-CAMPUS HOUSING  

For the budget traveler, the East-West Center Residence Halls, located right next to the Imin International Conference Center (conference venue), provide affordable accommodations. Each residence hall has a reception desk to provide check-in and check-out services. The desks also take messages, provide change for laundry and vending machines, issue spare keys, and provide general information. Air conditioning is NOT available in any of the East-West Center residence halls.
 
If you are interested in staying at one of the three residence halls, please contact the East-West Center Housing Office directly to make your reservation. Be sure to mention that you are a "TCLT7 group member," so you can get the special rates. Please make your reservation as early as possible for your best chance at getting a room. They fill up quickly.

Lincoln Hall picture

Lincoln Hall is a four-story building serviced by one elevator. All studios ($52/night) have cable TV, telephone service, internet access, and private bathroom/toilet facilities.

Hale Manoa is a 13-story dormitory serviced by two elevators. Double dorm rooms (2 single beds) are $37 per night. Linen and bedding are provided; however, guests must either bring towels or purchase a towel packet (bath towel, wash cloth, and small bar of soap) at the Front Desk. All rooms have telephone service, internet access, and shared bathroom facilities. Limited kitchen facilities and coin-operated laundry machines are located on each floor. In addition, residents have access to lounges for TV viewing and social gatherings. 

Hale Manoa Desk Hours: Open 24 hours a day

Hale Kuahine picture

Hale Kuahine is a four-story dormitory with no elevator. Physical arrangements and rates are similar to Hale Manoa.
