LODGINGConference participants are responsible for their own accommodations. We have negotiated special room rates with two hotels and our on-campus residence halls. The number of rooms are limited, and you are encouraged to reserve your room in a timely manner. NEW! HOTELS IN WAIKIKI The two conference hotels are located next to each other in central Waikiki.
Situated at the corner of Kuhio and Kaiulani Avenues, this Waikiki hotel is steps away from famed Waikiki Beach and Kalakaua Avenue’s shopping and entertainment. OHANA Waikiki East offers 3 restaurants and an espresso café, and around the corner you’ll find a fully stocked grocer. There’s a swimming pool, fitness room, and video game arcade on-site. A brisk 20-minute walk takes you to the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium at the foot of world-famous Diamond Head. Or use the OHANA Waikiki Connection free pass to explore the ins and outs of Waikiki on the rambling Waikiki Trolley with a final stop to shop at Ala Moana Center (available for guests of the OHANA Hotels only). Guest rooms feature air conditioning, balcony, cable TV, pay movies, mini-refrigerator, free high-speed internet access, and more. (NOTE: We will be arranging for complimentary conference shuttle service between this conference hotel and the UH campus during the conference - see the Transportation section for updates). OHANA Waikiki West is a family-friendly Waikiki hotel in every way, with plenty of kitchenette rooms and standard rooms. Starbucks and Chili’s restaurant offer familiar fare, and there’s a fully stocked grocer just steps away. OHANA Waikiki West's central Waikiki location is just a 5-minute walk to Waikiki Beach. Tour Honolulu by city bus at your leisure, or use the OHANA Waikiki Connection free pass to board the Waikiki Trolley shopping shuttle directly in front of the hotel for hop-on-hop-off sightseeing of Waikiki with a final stop to shop at Ala Moana Center (available for guests of the OHANA Hotels only). ON-CAMPUS HOUSING For the budget traveler, the East-West Center Residence Halls,
located right next to the Imin International Conference Center (conference venue), provide
affordable accommodations. Each residence hall has a reception desk to
provide check-in and check-out services. The desks also take messages,
provide change for laundry and vending machines, issue spare keys, and
provide general information. Air conditioning is NOT available in any
of the East-West Center residence halls. East-West Center Housing Office
Check-in time -- 2:00 p.m. Late check-outs will result in a one night's room charge.
