Federal funding for the Title VI Language Resource Center (LRC) Program has been abruptly discontinued after 35 years of work in world language education. Charlene Polio is the editor of the NFLRC Mongraph Second Language Development in Writing. She is also the editor of the Annual Review of Applied Linguistics and professor in the Department of Linguistics & Germanic, Slavic, Asian, & African Languages at Michigan State University. Her main area of research is second language writing.
