Susanne DeVore is a PhD student in Second Language Studies. Before coming to the University of Hawaii, she earned a BA degree in journalism and political science from the University of Pittsburgh and an MA in Chinese from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her research interests include the development of syntactic complexity in learners of Chinese, second language writing, sociolinguistics, and corpus linguistics.
