Jillian Breithaupt (they/she) is a graduate assistant at the National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC). They are an MA student in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) studying Language Documentation & Conservation. Prior to coming to UHM, she earned a BA in Linguistics, Psychology, French, and ASL from the University of Rochester. Jillianʻs research interests include language variation & change, historical linguistics, sign language linguistics, creole languages, language documentation, and phonology.
