Federal funding for the Title VI Language Resource Center (LRC) Program has been abruptly discontinued after 35 years of work in world language education.     Johanna Watzinger-Tharp

    Johanna Watzinger-Tharp received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in Applied Linguistics and is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Utah. Her research focuses on proficiency of students in dual language immersion and its implications for teacher education, and language policy and practice. She teaches courses in L2 pedagogy, sociolinguistics, linguistics, and multilingualism.
