IRENE THOMPSON (former Co-Editor, Language Learning & Technology) is Professor Emerita at George Washington University, where she taught for many years and served as chair of the Department of Slavic Languages, in addition to a two-year stint as Director of the Russian language program at the Foreign Service Institute. She has conducted numerous ACTFL and Peace Corps teacher-training workshops on language pedagogy and language testing in the U.S. and abroad.
